Our teachers are accredited with the Costa Rican Ministry of Education. They have graduated with honors in Spanish specializing in areas such
as literature, phonetics, phonology, morphology and philology. They have participated in numerous language and social investigation conferences. They all have a great deal of experience teaching Spanish as a second language to students of all levels.
Karolina Arias was born in Costa Rica. She obtained her superior-level in the Magister University. She has participated in numerous conferences on second language acquisition cross-cultural, Identity and Education. She has extensive experience teaching Spanish. She also has completed study in linguistic with emphasis in syntax, phonetic, phonology and morphology.
Ana Luisa is a native of Costa Rica and is now living in Heredia. She has extensive experience teaching Spanish as second language. She specializes in the teaching of Spanish with emphasis in syntax, phonetic and morphologic in Costa Rican University.
Learning Spanish at Irazú is efficient and fun. We employ the communicative approach emphasizing conversation. Students will learn the language as it is used for daily practical needs which will facilitate their ability to think in Spanish. The classes incorporate all aspects of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Costa Rican idiomatic speech is included. We offer more customized instruction based on the specific needs and academic goals of our students. This includes programs by theme (Spanish for business, Spanish for English teachers, Spanish for Health) or by group (teenagers, children, families etc).
Our classes and accompanying activities emphasize total immersion in the culture. We try to create a warm and friendly atmosphere. Students can take advantage of all the cultural, recreational and volunteer activities this beautiful country offers.
