Classes emphasize oral communication to achieve specific goals. We offer more customized instruction based on the specific needs and academic goals of our students. This includes programs by theme Spanish for business, Spanish for English teachers, Spanish for Health among anothers or by group: teenagers, children, families and adults.
Students can take advantage of all the cultural, recreational and volunteer activities this beautiful country offers.
Incoming students receive an orientation to the Canton of Santo Domingo. They will learn where to find super markets, health centers, banks, internet cafes, and other areas of interest in the immediate area. Next students are placed either with a family for a home stay or a suitable apartment or hotel is arranged. Once settled they are evaluated to determine their level of Spanish proficiency and placed in a low, medium or high level class in a beginning, intermediate or advanced group. Each student receives a text and exercise book as part of the program.
Classes run five days a week Monday through Friday for four hours a day either from 8 AM until 12 Noon or from 1:30 PM until 5:30 PM.
Group classes: Typical classes consist of small groups of 3 or 5 students, never more than 6. Students meet fours hours in a day. This classes usually take place in the morning. Some students might be assigned classes in the afternoon from 1:30 to 5:30.
Private classes: Many students who only want to take a week or two of classes opt for a private class.
Group and private tutoring: Another option is to take four hours of group study daily with an additional two hours for private tutoring to allow the student to reinforce the themes studied in the earlier class with more free conversation. In this case an 8 AM to 12 PM morning class would be followed by a two hour session from 1:30 to 3:30 PM.
